When my son turned eight, we found ourselves in a space no parent expects to be in. He was too big for supermarket nappies, but adult products didn’t fit or function for his body. As a non-mobile child, he needed more than a compromise, he needed a product designed with his comfort, dignity, and daily care in mind.
I spent countless hours searching, improvising, and feeling like I was failing him. Then I realised: if we're facing this, thousands of other families must be too.
What began as our family’s experience was reflected again and again through our community surveys. The response was overwhelming and clear; families were facing the same unmet need, and better options simply didn’t exist. That gap is what led to the creation of Middle Mates.
MiddleMates was born from that frustration and love. We're creating nappies specifically designed for children aged 6-10 years, those with disabilities, medical needs, or simply developing at their own pace.
